Origin
The tide pulled Skelvane out of the Bonetide strait at dusk, while the water still glowed from the lava cooling underneath.
It hangs head down the way it was found. The jaw is locked open on two rows of hooked teeth and the throat behind them is stained the red of something that fed recently. The bone runs black and white in long marbled currents, like the black water soaked into every vertebra and set there. A fisherman's lure is still lodged at the gill. The fins have gone violet and ragged at the edges.
