Recovered from the old timber of Skullwood, where the roots go deepest and the eldest tree still stands.
Ancient, bearded, and rooted deeper than memory. The bark-skin face and moss-draped branches are cut in deep relief, every ring of its impossible age in the grain. The wood grain, the lichen, the deep-set eyes all come off the plate without paint. It is the forest's eldest sentinel and it has never joined an order, because the orders came after it.
